[Engineering][Math] Postdoc (WVURC, USA)
The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire a qualified Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at West Virginia University. The incumbent will assist in conducting research in the area of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to help develop research projects in all phases including planning, project task development, conducting research; and writing reports and publication, and presentations.
This position is located in Morgantown, WV, home of West Virginia University and centrally located between 6 of 8 of the largest US metropolitan areas.
Requires a PhD in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, applied mathematics, or closely related field; in-depth experience in computation fluid dynamics (CFD) or related disciplines; proven expertise in Fortran coding design; and experience with a commercial CFD code (e.g. Fluent).
Preference will be given to candidates with the following additional qualifications and/or experience: experience running CFD simulations with Fluent including compressible flow, turbulence, etc.; UDF development experience for Fluent; exposure and/or development of a DNS algorithm for external flows; working with parallel Linux clusters for both parallel Fluent simulations as well as in-house parallel Navier-Stokes simulations; exposure to the MPI and implementation of MPI into Fortran CFD codes; and/or experience with the following commercial codes: Tecplot, Fieldview, Gridgen, Solidworks and Visio.
